KAREN RAND - Camp Director

Karen Rand has been a teacher in BCPS for 20 years.  Her first four years was spent teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grade at Sparrows Point Middle School, and her last 16 years Karen taught 4th grade at Timonium Elementary School.  Karen graduated from Dulaney High School as a four-year varsity soccer and softball player.  She coached JV soccer and JV softball at Sparrows Point High School for four years, was an assistant coach at University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) for one year, and was the head JV coach at The Severn School for three years.  Karen played Division 1 soccer and softball for Saint Francis University where she got a bachelor’s degree and received an athletic scholarship.  She then went on to get her master’s in education at Towson University.
